OUR STORY

Caffè Cittadella is an artisan coffee house and bistro. In addition to premium, specialty coffee drinks (49th Parallel Coffee Roasters), we offer a healthy menu featuring fresh pastries, gourmet panini, homemade light meals and delicious gluten free desserts.

We are located in Fairview Slopes, at 2310 Ash Street (corner of Ash Street and West 7th Avenue) in a beautifully renovated two story heritage house from 1894.

About the house

(plaque text)

"This rare surviving 1894 Victorian home was one of the first homes built in Fairview Slopes. Within a decade houses covered the entire neighbourhood. Shaw House draws from the Italianate style with elements of the Eastlake style, such as elaborate gingerbread fretwork in the gable ends and a two-storey square bay window with brackets. Lots in Fairview went on the market in 1891, the year the first Cambie Bridge was completed across False Creek. When James and Emma Shaw lived here their house faced 7th Avenue and there were salmon-bearing creeks half a bloc away on either side of the house. James worked as a canneryman in local salmon canneries. For many years this house remained vacant and had deteriorated significantly. In 2003 it was turned to face Ash Street and restored as part of a larger commercial project by Cressey."
